SSL Lookup
SSL Lookup retrieves certificate details for a hostname and port. Review issuer and validity information to investigate HTTPS configuration problems. Check now.
What is SSL Lookup?
SSL Lookup retrieves the TLS certificate presented by a hostname on the selected port. Certificate details can help explain renewal concerns, unexpected issuers, or HTTPS configuration differences. Use it to inspect the certificate a server presents before investigating the rest of a connection problem.
How to use this tool
Enter the hostname and choose the port used by its secure service. The default port is 443. Submit the lookup, then compare the returned certificate information with the hostname you intended to check and the certificate configured by your hosting provider.
Understanding the results
Review the available issuer, subject, and validity details together. A certificate that has not expired still does not prove that every part of a website is secure. Different hostnames or ports may present different certificates. Connections can also fail before a certificate is retrieved, so an error requires further investigation rather than an immediate assumption that the domain has no certificate.
Frequently asked questions
Should I include a page path?
The certificate belongs to the TLS connection for the hostname and port. A path such as a product page does not select a different certificate on that same connection.
Does this renew my certificate?
No. This is an inspection tool. Renewal and installation take place through your certificate issuer, hosting platform, or existing certificate management process.
