What is DNS Lookup?
DNS Lookup retrieves the DNS records available for a hostname. It helps you inspect how a domain points to web servers, routes email, and identifies its authoritative nameservers. Start here when a domain behaves differently after a hosting or email change.
How to use this tool
Enter the domain or hostname you want to investigate, then submit the lookup. Review each returned record group separately. Compare the exact hostname you entered with your provider's configuration, since the root domain and a subdomain can use different records.
Understanding the results
The lookup requests A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, NS, TXT, SOA, and CAA records. A missing group means that this request did not return records of that type. It does not automatically indicate a problem. Resolver caching can also delay the appearance of a recent change. Keep a copy of the current values before changing records at your DNS provider.
Frequently asked questions
Does this check DNS from every country?
No. The results reflect the lookup performed by this service. They are not a worldwide propagation test across multiple independent resolvers.
Can I edit DNS records here?
No. This tool displays records. Make any approved changes through the authoritative DNS provider, then repeat the lookup to check the returned values.
