External links checker
External links checker lists off-site destinations found in HTML. Review outgoing references and anchor text before checking their relevance and availability.
External links checker: what this tool checks
External links checker finds page anchors whose resolved destination uses a different hostname. The report shows those addresses alongside their anchor text, helping editors inspect citations, partner references, advertising destinations, and other outgoing links without manually searching through all the source markup.
How to use it
- Enter the page URL in the form and submit it.
- Review the external link count and the listed destinations.
- Check that each important reference still points to the intended organization or resource and uses meaningful anchor text.
Understanding your results
The classification compares hostnames, so another subdomain can count as external. Relative links are resolved before classification. Fragment-only references and common contact schemes are skipped. The list reflects occurrences in fetched HTML; it is not a backlink report and does not measure sites linking to you.
Frequently asked questions
Does this tool check the destination response status?
No. Listing an address does not prove that it is accessible, trustworthy, or current. Visit important references and verify the destination content separately.
Why do I see the same destination repeatedly?
Multiple anchors can point to the same address, for example in a header and footer. The result describes the page's link elements rather than a deduplicated set of domains.
