HTTP requests checker
HTTP requests checker counts resource references in page HTML by type. Review image, stylesheet, script, and media totals before investigating network use.
HTTP requests checker: what this tool checks
HTTP requests checker estimates resource demand from references in a fetched HTML document. It reports a total and separate counts for images, CSS, JavaScript, iframes, video, and audio. The breakdown helps you compare templates or identify a resource category that deserves a closer performance review.
How to use it
- Enter the URL of a page you want to examine.
- Submit it and compare the totals across resource categories.
- Inspect the largest categories in the source, then use a browser network trace to measure actual transfers.
Understanding your results
These are markup reference counts, not recorded HTTP transactions. The implementation counts selected resource-bearing elements and certain link tags. Repeated references may be counted separately even when a browser reuses a cached resource. Requests triggered by CSS, scripts, APIs, or later interactions are not fully represented.
Frequently asked questions
Why does my browser show a different request total?
Browsers apply caching, load additional dependencies, follow redirects, and may delay media or images. The source-level estimate does not reproduce that complete loading process.
Can I identify the slowest resource here?
No. The breakdown does not include per-resource timings or transferred bytes. Use it to focus an investigation, then measure the relevant files with browser network and performance tools.
